is selected by Dwell editors in this collection of 5 Modern Homes in Oakland.

This former live/work compound comprises of a renovated 1 BR house with

attached workshop, and an additional office suite built with 2 shipping containers.

The former great room (kitchen, living, dining) is working terrifically as

open offices for bL's designers and managers.

we rebuilt the entire main floor of this residence.

Special features include raising of ceiling heights,

articulation of clerestory windows,

glass sliding doors, deck shade structure,

and a spa-like master bath.

Green elements: sprayed foam insulation,

solar arrays, and radiant heating.
